June 15th Paris, London, Edinburgh

As you might guess from the title, today was a travel day. And since we had a flight out of Charles De Gaulle airport at 7:50 am it meant getting up at 4:30 am to haul all the suitcases down the 53 steps to meet the taxi at 5:00 am.

But I managed to do that with only 2 trips back up the winding 53 steps. Not much open at the airport that early in the morning, so it was a crosaint and water for breakfast.

Saying goodbye to France

Now as some of you may know, today is also our wedding anniversary. 58 years together. So when boarding the plane, I mentioned to the flight attendants that today we had been married for 58 years. Mary Ann didn’t hear me tell them. I figured at best they might say something over the PA system once we were airborne.

They did not. But instead showed up with champagne and some nice biscuits with a personal card. It was very very sweet of them.

Not all airlines would do that. And not every wife would get taken up to 15,000 feet in a jet plane and served a champagne breakfast

And this is how we say hello to the UK.

A man made pond where they practice or race or both rowing boats called racing shells.

Windsor with Eton and Windsor Castle.

We get our luggage, then a taxi to downtown Edinburgh where we have an AirB&B for 3 nights. Place isn’t ready be ause we are early, so we drop our bags and the taxi driver takes is down to a less residential section where we can pass the time till the place is ready.
We found this.

Inside I think they like Soccer

We searched for a place
To eat and found this jewel.

Mary Ann had Vietnam steak.

And I had curry.

We were so hungry I almost forgot to take photos. We were going to walk home but it was raining, we had no place to go. Riding around the streets in a cab, I remembered the words are only necessary after love is gone.

Good night
