Start of the journey home. Check out of Kenmare place and head to Limerick. Why Limerick? It is half way to Dublin from Kenmare. For some reason, we are shown a route that takes us on many a back road. Don’t mind the time, but Mary Ann is tired of the panic when a larger vehicle is coming towards us. Well let’s be clear, she panics and I drive. If we both stay in our lanes, all is well.
So not a lot of photos today. I guess I could repost some older ones from small country roads in Ireland and see who notices, but that would hurt if I was caught doing it. So just some photos from when we got to Limerick.
Riverside of our Limerick hotel from our room.
Looking upstream or downstream. I don’t know
And again.
So we drop off our lighage and drive to downtown Limerick. Today the wind is really blowing in Limerick so we only do a drive-by if you will. I guess we are ready to say goodbye to Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain and Italy and head home.
So we go back to the hotel for lunch. A small lunch since we will eat here tonight.
Mary Ann at our lunch along the river.
When I was eating at a pub in Kenmare , I saw a sign on the bar that said “Have a Jameson, Ginger and Lime.” I didn’t but I asked our waitress here about it. It is just that. A shot of Jameson whiskey, ginger ale and a lime.
Mary Ann went up to rest after lunch and I stayed and had one(after a couple Jameson on the rocks) and here is what happens.
I really thought these lights in the lounge were cool. Or maybe it was all the Jameson.
One more shot of Limerick from our hotel.
And upriver.
We have 8:00 pm dinner reservations and then we leave for Dublin tomorrow morning. Only this time by the main roads.
We had dinner. Nothing special. Pappardelle with shrimp and peppers. Asked for more grated cheese and they brought slices. Oh well.
One last thing before bed. Annie seems to be having a nice time with her friends on Topsail. We will see them on Tuesday.
Good night
